Inclusion in education: from theory to practice, master-classes and round table discussions

On February 16-17, by master-classes, discussions and round tables will continue the three days of the International Congress of inclusive schooling, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of TISBI's educational program for people with disabilities.


Master-classes and workshops of the leading scientists and professionals of Russia and from abroad, open session of the International UNESCO Chair, open platforms of trainers of an inclusion education from leading Russian and foreign abroad universities were carried out within the Congress. The participants of events discussed not only the problems of an inclusion education, but also exchanged an experience of work, the techniques of training specialists in this field, as well as touched upon the problems of an employment and rights of people with disabilities. 

On February, 16, the second day of the Congress, work was carried out in twelve directions: "Open session of the International UNESCO Chair", “Adaptive educational programs for people with disabilities: student-teacher-textbook”, “The Use of Information and communication technologies in inclusive education”: Russian and foreign experience”, “Theater and people with peculiarities in development: the insight” and others. On the third day of the Congress, the work was organized in the form of round tables and psychological workshops to make the pedagogical staff ready for work with children with disabilities.

The problems of introduction of assistive technologies in inclusive education were touched upon at the round table “The Use of Information and communication technologies in inclusive education. Russian and foreign experience”.

One of the participants of Congress, the Manager of “The Ablenet” company Paul Thompson (Great Britain), spoke about the steps which should be made first in learning the basics of computer literacy, and what early stages of use of assistive technologies there are.


The participants were very active in discussing the problem of computer access for people with disabilities. Sie Gilbert, the Coordinator of Methodical Training in Conway, South Carolina schools, described in details the instruction of using a personal computer.
